Church announcements for April 28th, 2013

1. Aleyamma Ouseph, mother of our member Mrs. Lisa George passed away last Monday. Parish expresses deepest sympathy and prays for the grieving family members. There was will be “Doopaprarthana” after “Kaimuthu”.
2.  Monthly Prayer meeting was held Dr. Mano Zachariah’s residence yesterday.
3. Next Monthly Prayer meeting will be held at Saji K. Pothen’s residence on May 25^th at 6pm.
4. We request Prayer meeting volunteer for the month of June.
5. Martha Mariam Samajam will be conducting Rockland Regional Prayer Meeting. The prayer meeting will be held on Saturday, June 1^st, 2013 from 4pm to 6pm at St. John’s Orthodox Church, Orangeburg. For more details, please contact Lipsy Mathews or Elizabeth Saji.
6. As announced last week, Martha Mariam Samajam will place a clothing drop box in our church today. People are encouraged to drop off used summer clothes, sarees, churidars etc. These donations will help to clothe the poor and homeless in India.
7. There will be a Sunday school field trip on next Saturday. We will start from Church 9:30am, going to St. John the Divine Cathedral and returning 2:00pm. A bus has been arranged for the Children. More details will be provided by the Principal.
8. The OVBS committee invites students from Sunday Schools of North Eastern Diocese to participate in a drawing competition. The picture should be related to the theme for OVBS 2013.  The deadline for all drawing submissions will be May 20th.
9. There is opportunity to submit songs for consideration of being included on the OVBS song compilation CD. The deadline for song submission is May 20th. Picture & Songs should be related to the theme. St. James 4:10: “Humble yourselves before the Lord and he will exalt you.”Please contact OVBS coordinators Tinky Abraham or Gigi Kurian for further details.
10. Next week’s bible reading will be done by Sharon Saji Pothen.
11. His Grace Zachariah Mar Theophilus has been admitted to the hospital in Houston. Our members Saji M. Pothen and Abraham Pothen are with the Thrumeni. Please pray for the Thrumeni’s speedy recovery.

13. Sad Demise: Mrs. Annamma Philipose (Kunjamol) wife of Philipose Vattasherril passed last Sunday. She was one of the pioneer members of the Rockland Church. Many of our members attended the wake and funeral.
