The Church announcements for the Week of Feb 24th, 2013
1. On behalf of the church, I would like to extend our gratitude to Sujith Achen for coming to our church and conducting the Holy Qurbana. Thank you Achen!
2. The Mid Lent Holy Qurbana will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at 6:30 pm.
3. Retreat and Confession will be held on Sunday, March 23, 2013
a. 10 am for youth (English) and adults- Separate sessions
b. 2:00 pm for Sunday School children
Retreat Leaders will be Fr. Boby Varghese (St. Valdimir Seminary) and Br. Shinto
Philip (St. Tikhon’s Seminary).
4. Today there will be:
a. MGOCSM meeting
b. The Sunday school exam
5. The Secretary of the Joint Council of Church’s is requesting at least 10 members to be present at today’s at their Annual General Body meeting and election of Office bearers for the year 2013. The meeting will be at St. John’s Orthodox Church, Orangeburg.
6. Next week’s Lenten Sermon will be given by Michelle Pothen.
7. Next week’s bible reading will be given by Rhea Mathews.
8. St. Mary’s youth league election will be held next week.
9. Achen will lead the divyabodhanam class after refreshments
Another important announcement-
Thank you for all the members who have expressed their support for the Family Trip Cruise:
a. Few of you have indicated that you are waiting to hear back on your vacation approval and we are reminding that the reservation is on hold till then.
b. This is a family friendly trip and last time 32 families/126 had taken the cruise. So I would also like to remind that you can bring non-church members
c. One or Two families can get full refund if under extenuating circumstances you have to cancel at the last minute
d. If you need any clarification about the cruise please do not hesitate to speak with Saji K Pothen or Ben Cherian
e. So please make sure you give the deposit by March 3, 2013 so that we can get a clear head count.
