Demise of our senior member Mrs. Chinnamma Abraham

We deeply regret the demise of our senior member Mrs. Chinnamma Abraham, mother of Raju, Susamma, Jose, Jolly, Babu and Jai on December 10,2021. Our prayers and condolences to the bereaving family.

Chinnamma Abraham was born on August 29, 1932, to Godly parents Mr. Mathen Varghese and Mrs. Mariamma Varghese of Thadathil Kizhakkekkara, Mezhuveli, Kerala. She was the oldest of nine children.

Chinnamma was married to the late Mr. C. K. Abraham of Chirappurathu House, Kattodu, Thiruvalla, in 1950. Shortly after her marriage, she moved to Tamil Nadu with her husband while he was working with the Tamil Nadu Police dept. till 1976.
They were blessed with six children: Raju, Susamma, Jose, Jolly, Babu, and Jai. Chinnamma played an important role along with her husband in the education and welfare of their children. She took particular interest to raise them in the fear of God. She was very active with St. Mary’s Indian Orthodox Church, Vellimala, Punalur. She was bold and engaged in various spiritual meetings. She served as the secretary of Martha Mariayam Samajam.

Chinnamma was very hospitable towards everyone. She was a model of Christ in that she had respect and compassion for those around her and was always looking for the welfare of others.

Chinnamma migrated to the United States on May 22, 2009. She lived with her son, Jose Abraham, and attended worship at St. Mary’s Indian Orthodox Church, Suffern.

Her brothers, Varghese Mathew and K. Varghese, as well as her son-in-law T.J Chacko are resting in the Lord. She is survived by her brothers T.V. Luke, T.M. Thampi; sisters Ammini, Kunjukunjamma, Leelamma and Rosamma; son-in-law P.K. John; and daughter-in-laws Chinnamma, Sosamma, Rachel, and Lali. She was a blessed grandmother to 12 and great-grandmother to 11.

She entered her eternal rest on Friday, December 10. Even while she was physically weak, all her thoughts and concerns were about others.

She has left an immense void in all the lives she touched. During her final days, she was surrounded by her children, grandchildren, family and friends.

“As for you, go your way till the end. You will rest, and then at the end of the days you will rise to receive your allotted inheritance.”
